US migrants held in pen

Sputnik

FOX News has captured heartbreaking footage shot by an aerial drone showing hundreds of migrants in a makeshift holding pen set up by US Customs and Border Patrol under a large bridge in the city of Mission, Texas.

The footage shows hundreds of people encamped at the facility, which appears to lack even basic amenities, with vehicles seen driving on a bridge above amid daytime temperatures of close to 37°C. Fox estimates that the facility may be holding up to 1000 people. The bridge in the video is the Anzalduas International Bridge, which has customs points set up on either side. It is known as a hot spot for the cross-border illegal drug trade.

The drone footage has racked up over 400 000 views in just over 12 hours. The situation became a major problem after Biden halted Donald Trump’s border wall, pledging to end “harsh” immigration enforcement and cancelling Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” incentives programme.

The administration hinted that it would consider a “path to citizenship” for 11 million illegals in the US.
