BBBEE is an aberrant example of social engineering

YOUR Tuesday edition story “BBBEE commission cracks the whip” refers: It is cases such as this that show that social engineering is ridiculous.

Like apartheid was an aberration, so is the way in which the government is desperately trying to engineer who is African, coloured, Indian or white.

We don't have those pernicious and horrific laws where people had to be slotted into little draws to note their skin colour.

Shouldn't we all be looking forward to the day when people are people and we are not being forced to define what colour our skin is? MICHAEL BAGRAIM | Highlands Estate
